A SURVIVOR'S EXPERIENCE on Quirino Hostage Taking and Bloodbath
"I guess its in your nature not to inflict pain on others unless it was necessary...
It’s like a nightmare with no end and to wake up means a certain death...
Mister Mendoza finally admits his mistake and said sorry to everyone, dead or alive...
All I could think of was to stay alive - for my child who is waiting for me back in Xinjang.
I know I will survive, I will come home."

Extraordinarily Happy and Productive Day
So I woke up at around two-thirty in the morning after sleeping for six hours.
I woke up hoping that I can finish reviewing BA 101. I did.
BA 101 MIDTERMS. So I was late for five or so minutes. I am happy enough that I saw a classmate in my English 30 class named Demy as I rode on UP-Katipunan jeepney. I was about to hand-over personally the excuse letter to my professor until I saw her. I was then able to be not so late in my exam. I found the exam hard on the problem-solving part. Dude, I was not able to guess even a single answer. I tried solving it though. Math, what's wrong with you? :)) After the exam, our case group net and I found it so fun talking with Gelo and Andrea. I so like them both and they are not the other type of BA students. Now you know what I mean?
CONFESSION. At last1 After several months, or a year I think. I finally confessed. I feel so light after the confession. I think Father Anil was the one who administered it. I feel so blessed and relieved! Super thank you Lord!
BIG NEWS. I am so happy about the new member of the family! :) I was not able to witness it though. I can't reveal much information here, just as yet.
WHY LAW. UP LAW. So I have been so moved about the symposium. It was, according to Dean Leonen of the College of Law, their first time to conduct such endeavor. And I was lucky enough to be part of it! I am so inspired by the talks, about being a SOCIAL LEADER. About helping others acquire JUSTICE. I think I have to reconsider changing my plans on having BA as my minor since I need to prepare for law- even if the speakers said that there is no such thing as a preparation for law.
PUB's 2nd MILESTONE. Did the 2nd milestone of the UPCE Business Proposal. Had fun doing it with Mike and Jeric. Thank you guys!
HAIRCUT. Since I went to SM North to borrow some movie CDs for my BC180 paper, I took the chance to have my haircut. Rafael, the haircutter of Bench Fix, had a great job on my hair! I so liked the service and my new cut!
I AM THANKFUL I HAVE MY GOD WITH ME.
Thanks Lord for all the blessings this day.

EXPENSIVE DAY it has been
Upon waking up yesterday Saturday, I immediately went to the bathroom.
It was 8 in the morning realizing that I am left with 1o chapters to review more for Monday's BA 101 midterms.
I took a bath, prepared to go outside and thought that it was a holiday so the library was closed, I just decided to go to TechnoHub and study there at KFC.
I spent 10 straight hours in that restaurant.
It was past 6 in the evening when I decided to go home and attend a mass.
But due to Philcoa jeep waiting for the vehicle to be filled with passengers, I was not able to attend the start of the mass. I just stayed and said my prayers.
After an hour of resting in Ipil, I decided to go to Philcoa to continue my review.
This time at Chowking. I thought it was silent there. it was until ten minutes after, the radio was on.
I spent three straight hours in that place and now I am home.
I spent 700 pesos for the foods I ate in just for this day.
It was really an expensive day.
But I think it's better than not reviewing at all.
I am praying and hoping that I will pass and get high grade on the midterms.
I pray.

BA 101 review craze
Now that I am done with my production in BC 148, I can now devote my time reviewing BA 101 for our midterm examination on Monday! I know I am left with just a little time to study my lessons, so please do pray for me.
Upon waking up this afternoon from a short nap, I immediately took a bath and prepared to go to Techno Hub where I thought I can enjoy reviewing, this is my first time to review alone in KFC. I enjoyed eating more than studying it is due to the noise that the other people made inside the place. I kind of enjoy the atmosphere and topics then suddenly, a "call of nature" needs to be attained so I went back to the dormitory. I only spent an hour and forty minutes in KFC reviewing just a few pages.
At present, I now on the 5th chapter and I still need to study 9 more chapters!
So I need to get back to my room and confine myself with the books.
P.S.
Super thanks to those who viewed my prod on Youtube! :)
And for those who were not able to check it yet, HERE is the link.

GANITO KASI YAN Dagupan Episode
So here is my baby!
Please do watch, comment, and share it with you friends.
This production did not just made me enjoy my stay in Dagupan City on my birthday, but this video also helped appreciate the art of editing! As a Broadcast major, some of my friends say that I should know how to edit productions, but I keep on answering that I am not that so patient so much thanks to this prod for making me so patient for days and nights! :)

-Atty. Purification Quisumbing, Commission on Human Rights (UKG)

Birthday Still
I thought after August 14 everything will return to normal, but I was wrong.
People keep on greeting me a happy birthday message and I so appreciate it!
Just like this afternoon maybe thirty minutes ago, Jestine and Jephan approached me while I'm doing my schedule on my laptop near at the TV Studio. They greeted me a belated message.
I am so touched knowing these people have been my classmates last year in PolSci 14 and were my batchmates in UP Baguio during our first year in UP.
I so like these guys, super. As much as I like the people who made me feel special on my day!
Thank you very much guys!
I do not know how to thank you all. SUPER THANKS!

DAGUPAN CITY shooting
I so enjoyed shooting for my BC 148 podcast production especially with the help and company of my two brethren, Bro. Recto and Bro. Patrick. I would also like to thanks Uncle Og for his patience as our driver.

FIRE and UP Diliman Buildings
As I write this entry, the south wing of Quezon Hall' or the Administration Building of UP Diliman is on fire.
The reason is still unknown.
Early this semester the Chemistry Building of the same university was also hit by fire.
I do not know if this series is caused by human manipulation or these disasters have had happened as an accident in nature.
I think a question on preventive securities should also be raised on such issue. A lot of important documents are at stake if more buildings will also blaze on fire. And the reputation of the school being the National University in the country might be questioned on its implementation on facility's security.
As I end this, fire bureau declared "fire out" according to Kule.

18's LAST MINUTES AND QUESTIONS
Here I am waiting for the new day to come. Waiting for a new year for me to come.
This makes me sick, knowing that I have a lot of academic stuff to do including examinations and productions.
I miss high school days especially the 14th of every August when my friends and I come to my place and celebrate my day with my fave foods served by my mom and Ate Rosie.
But college is different.
You celebrate birthday alone.
Well, thanks to your friends who make you happier on that day.
I have been thinking these past few days about my future, about the coming more birthdays to come, if God permits me to, about a lot of options that may come my way upon graduation.
On how am I going to celebrate my debut on 2013, and will I be earning on my own on that year or I am still pursuing a higher degree? Questions... questions.
Anyway, in a few minutes, I will enter my last year of being a teenager- which makes me more sad about the fact that I have not enjoyed yet my teenage life.
Well, how do you define happiness? Well, that's another question.
All I know is that I have done a lot of things that teenagers of present generation have already done, supposedly, except drugs. Well, as people say, it is the experimental phase in life wherein you delve on things which you think serve as adventures.
BUT, have I really been happy all these teenage years? Questions... questions.
Looking at my clock, I am left with 34 minutes until I become 19.
I still do not have a concrete plans on how to celebrate it.
Go to Katipunan and review for BA 101's midterms?
Go out with friends and continue what i am used to since elementary and that's celebrating my birthday with them and eating my favorite food?
Lock myself in the room and do all my assignments?
Shoot for my BC 148 production?
OR just go home in Pangasinan at home where my heart is, and spend the remaining hours of that first day of me being 19 with my dad, mom, and sister?
QUESTIONS...QUESTIONS...

PODCAST: Bringing lectures and seminars on cyberspace
We have a major production in my BC 148 or Interactive Broadcasting class and that is to make a video podcast on How to's but that I have not started yet. I know, my partner Ivy and I will air our production on the 19th yet I have not started it.
I may not have started doing the assigned podcast in class but I have started podcasting a lecture on the web! It was the lecture of Dr. Ed Portugal in our BA 101 class. To know the story about the lecture click here. If you wanna hear the entire playlist of the podcast click here. To check my podcast channel on podbean, click here.
Yesterday afternoon, while I got a chance to get out of my Comm 140 classroom to buy some snakcs, I saw Ma'am Data and asked her if she knows a free host for podcasts. She suggested Podcast Ally but when I checked it out, it was not really my type of thing so I googled for other free hosts. Then I found PodBean and I was interested on that site so I decided to make an account there where I can upload my podcasts.
I am pleased knowing that internet applications nowadays such as Podcasts and even RSS Feed, allow you to share your stuff on the cyberspace and makes it viral- reaching larger audience. I believe that it is one of the most significant tasks of the internet and that is to share what you know to contribute to others knowledge as well. It's a mutual relationship among producers and prod-users.
BC 148 does not only teach you the know-hows on the net but also teaches you the value of sharing and acknowledging the source. It's not that I am not for the productions it's just that I am not the production type of guy. As a matter of fact, I do not want to have production classes since I think it kills you. This class has a production but the type of prod that makes you enjoy it while doing it.
There you go, I have to end blogging now since I need to start doing the script of the podcast production since Ivy might get really even at me.

What's with the post
So I decided to post some of my outputs in my Malikhaing Pagsulat 10 class last semester since I think it can be viral. And it's about sharing the talent with the world!
Hey wait, you can leave comments on the posts, be not afraid since you are helping me in a way through commenting.

Walang Kasarian sa Pag-ibig (Chapter 1)
PAGHAHANDA.
“Anna, may sasabihin ako…”
Lei, I can’t go against my father’s will, you know his condition.” Mangiyak-ngiyak si Leila habang sinasabi ang, “I know babe, but how can we celebrate our 2nd anniversary if you’re not here?
Paano ako makakapag-move on sa ginawa mo? Mahal na mahal kita Dino.” Agad naman itong sinagot ni Dino, “Leila, alam kong masakit ang nararamdaman mo and I am so sorry.

DESTINY: The Sweetest Vid for Grannies
This is the sweetest video for grannies everrrr!
I noticed the old man blushing on the elevator, have you noticed that, too? :)
To this couple, congratulations!
Perhaps destiny lead them together, again.
It made me sort of sad since I miss my grandparents. Though I know they are happily together now, wherever they are.
Sorry Ma'am Data but I really can't help but to repost this and share about this genuine love that have found their way through the years! DESTINY, it is.

VIRAL-ity: On RSS Feed and Syndication
Finally I got to apply RSS on my sites!
I am happy having a class such as BC 148 or the Interactive Broadcasting especially having a professor who is really into these things on cyberspace. She introduces a lot of facts and things we can do on the internet and how to expand our horizons especially on the posts we make.
Now, one of the things we discussed, and I reported on this in fact, is on RSS Feed and Syndication.
It allows you to make your blogs, or podcasts viral on the internet. As Google Feed burner states:
"Feeds are a way for websites large and small to distribute their content well beyond just visitors using browsers. Feeds permit subscription to regular updates, delivered automatically via a web portal, news reader, or in some cases good old email. Feeds also make it possible for site content to be packaged into "widgets," "gadgets," mobile devices, and other bite-sized technologies that make it possible to display blogs, podcasts, and major news/sports/weather/whatever headlines just about anywhere."
One more point is that, since it allows you to make your ideas or posts viral, it can reach Yahoo News, if and only if it deserves to. I saw one time especially in the Yahoo Philippine News an article made by a student and I thought that it came from Yahoo per se but it is actually from a blog.
So here I am wondering what this RSS Feed may lead me into. Anyway, here is the feed of my blog. You might want to subscribe therein.
So guys, start adding RSS Feed on your blogs or podcasts, too! See you on the net!

The lady behind Cornetto’s tugs-tugs and the future lawyer
The brand manager of Unilever’s Cornetto Miss Gina Madrid talked about business planning in a multinational environment, wherein I learned a lot especially the techniques in proper planning. I was amazed on what she shared that there should be only one kind of brand in a regional or global level. She cited Dove as an example wherein the Dove in the Philippines should be the same Dove in India it is because, according to Miss Madrid, it is a good impact to the brand since most of the consumer are from the same region and people are not that so different from each other.
Miss Madrid also said that your business strategy should never change in three years and that it should not keep changing. I just thought now what if the environment changed, wouldn’t the company adapt its business strategy on the change in the environment or will it just stick on its original strategy?
I also liked the message that Miss Madrid shared to class, “On planning, you have to cascade and inspire, excite your people. A person who is inspired will go beyond the implementation.” I totally agree to her because inspiring your teammates and encouraging them to think big is really effective. I have experienced this before and is still doing it now especially in my organizations in school. Sometimes, I buy food during the planning session so that everyone can really think effectively without being hungry as we make important plans.
On 2013, I will be a freshman law student in the most prestigious law school in the country. Wherein great lawyers are trained and taught. I believe that knowing the ins and outs of the legal world can really be of an advantage- advantage in a way that you can help people achieve justice. And to be a future lawyer, I have to use the SWOT Analysis to help me know myself more.
I am good at writing and public speaking which are said to be one of the vital foundations of being a lawyer- knowing how to write resolutions and cases, at the same time knows how to speak well enough to be able to defend his client in court rooms.
Though, I am not that so good in memorizing and solving Mathematical problems. These two waterloos of mine are undeniably two of the basics in the legal world- knowing how to memorize acts and laws, and knowing how to think logically. I still believe I can develop these skills of mine.
I consider my courses that I am currently taking and the ones that I already took during the first two years of my college life as my opportunities, since I am trained on the basic skills I need to prepare myself and hopefully to become a great lawyer defending the people and giving them the justice they deserve.
The threats that I believe I have as of the moment are the people who are trained and majored in Political Science, Economics, and History; since these courses are the ones that really prepare students in becoming a law practitioner.

By Bro. Aldrin O. Soriano
Chapter Advisor Dad Melvin Calimlim challenged the seven new brethren that were conferred with DeMolay Degree at the Pangasinan Lodge No. 56 on August 1.
“Fidelity is faithfulness in the discharge of duty and obligation. You as new brethren must inculcate within yourselves this value not only because it is one of the seven cardinal virtues that we teach in the Order, but also because it is applicable inside-out of DeMolay,” said Dad Calimlim.
The chapter advisor emphasized the responsibility among brethren and the commitment that each DeMolay member has in the Order, and that it must be fulfilled since fidelity, according to Dad Calimlim is synonymous to allegiance, faithfulness, honesty, and loyalty.
The seven new brethren of Jacques’ Stone batch include Bro. Recto B. Castro Jr., Bro. Ralph Rustom N. Martinez, Bro. Mark Kevin C. Muñoz, Bro. John Kevin M. Reodique, Bro. Joseph Arnel S. We promise to actively participate in every endeavor of our chapter, and we also assure that we will not tolerate boastfulness within us,” said the batch leader Bro. Castro.

By Bro. Aldrin O. Soriano
Newly-elected Master Councilor Brother Philamer Glorious T. Celi presented new plans for the Order of DeMolay Pangasinan Chapter for Term B- DeMolay Year 2010 after bagging the highest position during the election on June 13.
The plans that Bro. Celi focuses more are on the success of the chapter and on rendering services to the fellow youth.
“We will continue to leverage Pangasinan Chapter in such a way that the virtues we have learned in the order plays a vital role in every endeavors that we take,” said the new master on his acceptance speech.
The programs that were set by Bro. Celi are seen on the acronym SUCCESS- Solidity, Unity, Comradeship, Cleanness, Environmentalism, School Service, and Shots- wherein the order will improve on its documentations. Bro. Celi ensures that he will also obtain the success in these projects.
“We will make Pangasinan Chapter grow more and as we reach higher step towards our goal in making our chapter the best in our jurisdiction, if not in the entire country; as the prime movers, we will also grow with it,” said the master.
The Election Commissioners headed by Bro. Marcy Tagulinao; the Advisory Council which is composed of Dad Melvin Calimlim, Dad Marlowe Garantoza, and Dad Mario David; and the brethren present were highly motivated by the master, as seen on the lauding applause by the crowd.
“As the Senior Councilor, I will make sure that we will work hand-in-hand with the master in achieving his objectives for our chapter,” said outgoing Junior Councilor and incoming Senior Councilor David Joshua O. Resultay on his acceptance speech.

DUCENDI: Leadership in Latin
By Bro. Aldrin O. Soriano
The Order of DeMolay Pangasinan Chapter conducted a competition on naming the official newsletter of the Order which will be published quarterly. The winner of the contest will be able to get a barong cloth often called “gusot mayaman” sponsored by the Chapter Advisor Dad Melvin Calimlim. The contest was successfully joined in by brethren wherein ten entries were submitted to the Editor-in-Chief of the newsletter Bro. Aldrin O. Soriano. The entries, with the name of the entrant removed, were then forwarded to the chapter advisor who made the decision consolidating the opinions of other senior brethren.
Three weeks after the launching of the competition, the decision was made and the winning nameplate of the official newsletter is The Ducendi which was proposed by Bro. Joseph Patrick D. Dandan. The Latin word means leadership.
Latin is the oldest language in the world and it has been known for its uniqueness and dominance in the past centuries. Many linguists also refer to this as the mother of all languages wherein Spanish came from. This language has also been used in medical and law terminologies wherewith various maxims also derives from.
Molding and developing young men to become the leader in the society who unselflessly serves its fellows, is one of the goals of DeMolay. Leadership in the context of the DeMolay Pangasinan Chapter signifies collaborative leadership among brethren wherein the success of the Order is the product of the unified effort of each and every brother.
The front cover of the magazine-type newsletter symbolically shows the way we lead the brotherhood toward achieving common goals. It shows that to be able to succeed in leveraging into higher heights, we should at least be unified. It also illustrates the genuine example of leadership and that is leading by example. The adage of the Pangasinan Chapter is also seen in the cover page of the publication and that is, “It’s either you lead, you follow, or you get out of the way.”

US Prof talks in my BA 101 class
State University of of New York professor Dr. Edwin Portugal talked about Competitive Advantage in my BA 101 class this morning. This cool and generous professor gave a great lecture and a lot of perks and gifts to the class!
The class was lucky enough to win a lot of prizes such as t-shirts, playing cards from Las Vegas, a circular playing cards, and medals! My team won the medals! According to Dr. Portugal, the medals came from the town where Ice-Olympics occurred.
(Dr. Portugal, me, and Sir Manny)
Prior to the start of the class, I asked the permission of CBA Dean Dr. Ben Paul Gutierrez and the speaker himself if I can record the entire seminar and he said yes. So I decided to make it a podcast-like production wherein I will upload the seminar which I recorded, in podcast!
