Chapter Advisor Dad Melvin Calimlim challenged the seven new brethren that were conferred with DeMolay Degree at the Pangasinan Lodge No. 56 on August 1.
“Fidelity is faithfulness in the discharge of duty and obligation. You as new brethren must inculcate within yourselves this value not only because it is one of the seven cardinal virtues that we teach in the Order, but also because it is applicable inside-out of DeMolay,” said Dad Calimlim.
The chapter advisor emphasized the responsibility among brethren and the commitment that each DeMolay member has in the Order, and that it must be fulfilled since fidelity, according to Dad Calimlim is synonymous to allegiance, faithfulness, honesty, and loyalty.
The seven new brethren of Jacques’ Stone batch include Bro. Recto B. Castro Jr., Bro. Ralph Rustom N. Martinez, Bro. Mark Kevin C. Muñoz, Bro. John Kevin M. Reodique, Bro. Joseph Arnel S. Tamondong, and Bro. Roeder M. Zulueta. Though half-bro. Julius Ceazar B. Timbreza who is one of their batch mates, was unable to make it because he was in Nueva Vizcaya due to his sick grandmother.
“On behalf of the new brethren, I would like to thank the Advisory Council and the DeMolay brethren for their continuous guidance throughout the application process. We promise to actively participate in every endeavor of our chapter, and we also assure that we will not tolerate boastfulness within us,” said the batch leader Bro. Castro.
Dad Calimlim also added that we will continue to intensify the number of petitioners in the coming terms in accordance to the main purpose of the order which is to help develop young men to become better citizens in the community. #
