Got a new baby

Yesterday, my entire family with two cousins- Ate Doreen and Ate Lala with Ate Rosie and a driver, went here in Quezon City particularly in Trinoma for me to finally buy the thing that I like, I want, and I need for me to survive my Broadcast Journalism class this semester! I am so happy and thankful that dad and mom was able to provide me DSLR despite the fact that the there is a slow financial entry with the business in these months.

Yesterday was really fun and that I got to bond with my family and relatives again. I just wish Lyle was here, too.

Being a Senior College Dude

I am feeling already the pressure of being a senior college students. My parents have been talking about their plans for me after graduation- my mom talked to me yesterday and dad talked to me this morning. Too much dreams for me, yet I feel like I am learning so little. I need more time to meet all their expectations and hopes for me.

So many what ifs meet my way off to that dream:
What if I get delayed and will not graduate on time?
What if I don't learn before going out on the real world?
What if I do not enjoy what they are training me for?
...and a lot more.

I need to focus first on how to graduate on time, but I will still continue learning the ins and outs of our family business. This will be my first real job, maybe. I hope I won't let my family down.

Happy Hero's Day mommy. Mahal ka namin nila daddy, ate Frelyn, at Mia.

From terror to joy

I am happy having Wang as partner. Before, we wanted to drop this subject but we are now loving it! I am grateful how this rocky experience in that class has turned out. Maybe, I just have to sacrifice something to gain more. I sacrificed a weekend at home for me to concentrate with this, but I really miss my family!

If I can only pull the end of the semester right now, I would. I need a long break. I need a vacation with family. I am excited for summer, however I do not like the fact that I so need to have summer classes. Anyway, I will concentrate more on this before having a great taste of that one great summer experience!

Bye to that US scholarship dream

Maybe I just needed this confirmation before fully surrendering my dream of being accepted to a US University for the Global UGRAD Scholarship for school year 2011-2012. I already foresaw that this will happen but I did not prepare myself much for this moment. Maybe, I just made my self so much excited for my flight bound to US not anticipating the defeat as I download the scholarship form from the e-mail of my professor, Ma'am Data Canlas. Now I just hope that things will go to normal, as for me who was excited for over a month just to see the results.

Yes, I got a non-acceptance letter from Fulbright. But thinking that I was able to reach the interview part, I am still blessed to be chosen from hundreds of aspirants who submitted their application form. I just found the result through a text message from my dad hours ago because they already received the letter at home. Here's his full text message:
Good pm son, natanggap na namin yung result ng exam mo sa Fulbright, at, you were not selected for a grant under 2011-2012. But according to the letter, you can re-apply. Your application will be considered, as before, solely on the basis of the merit of your proposal.
Now I know my dad is also upset, even my family, friends, and professors who were really hopeful that I make it to the US. Maybe I was not that good enough during the application process particularly during the interview phase wherein I committed a major mistake which I wish not to disclose herein. I just told my dad  that I would rather focus on my academics and strive harder to maintain my honor standing.

On the other hand, I am happy because if given the opportunity to stay in the US for a year because of the scholarship, I will not be able to see my family for a year, and God knows how painful that would be for me. If God has plans and reasons for everything, what might be the reason why I was not accepted to this scholarship? Maybe, which I am now anticipating, a bigger surprise awaits me.

Sick, literally

I feel like my whole system was down last night and I needed to go to the UP infirmary to be checked up. And yes, thank God I was not admitted and confined. The physician said that I just needed to rest. Maybe this is due to the Thursday's shoot and Friday's haggard library work. I have had a acute chest inflammatory probably viral, according to my medical certificate. If I still have high fever, I needed to have a blood examination for possible dengue. Oh, no, not dengue please.
It was funny that I though the medicine that was given to me was free but still I have to replace it. The pharmacy lacked the medicine that was prescribed to me so I have to go to Mercury Drug in Philcoa to buy those medicines.
My sister Frelyn was the one who comforted me through her text messaging, and upon arriving at the dormitory and before sleeping, my mom called and was worried about me. But I told her I was fine that moment. I felt so releieved upon hearing my mom's voice and reading my sister's messages. Dad was probably asleep at that time so he was not able to text or call.
Maybe the physician was right, I just needed to rest, but I can't thinking all the requirements that I needed to meet. Well, yes I will take a rest but not a 3-day bed rest as what I read from my medical certificate.
